> Hi Jim,

It *only* is a problem because Yahoo is illiterate and ignorant on RFC's
>
and made up their own "standard" called DMARC. Which are so piss poor
>
that the IETF outright rejected it and suggested a complete rewrite from
>
scratch.
>
>
But at this time I'm not willing to invest any time in fixing stuff that
>
Yahoo broke by not adhering to RFC's or common sense and by rolling
>
something out that even the IETF identified as a horrible idea.
>

I understand and agree completely that its a problem someone else caused Michael. But there are other things to consider.

Its NOT just Yahoo that's broken. I'm being flooded with customer's mail list problems from Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, MSN, Gmail, and others. Its not just Yahoo that's rejecting valid e-mail, but most of the big names.

And I'm not sure its DMARC that's the problem. They all seem to reject e-mail when it comes from a customer using one of those biggies. For example - when I send to the list from my home address, it works fine. But when someone who is a AOL user sends to that same list - all those companies reject it. They all see it "FROM" a AOL customer, but not coming from a AOL server - and reject it.

But whatever the cause - its VERY difficult for us to tell a customer "too bad - its Yahoo's fault" when they come to us with mail list problems. As I mentioned previously - my fix for many has been to set up a Google Groups list, or worse case a Yahoo list. But it sure looks shoddy - when we can't provide the service they are paying for and they have to go to Google. Makes it hard to keep customers....
