Yep,

Your server assumes its the email primary server for any domain its configured for. So when the webserver attempts to send a e-mail to someone in the same domain - it assumes it should be going to someone on that save server. It checks for the username, and not finding it - bounces as "no such user". You must set the server so that it knows some other server is handling e-mail for that domain. Then it will send it out properly.

We've seen this many times before. If I remember right, its fixed by going into the GUI page for that site. Left-side menu SERVICES and under that EMAIL. Checkmark the box labeled "Disable Email for Domain" and save. If memory serves me - that's all that has to be done, and the server will now do a DNS MX lookup for any outgoing e-mail from the website - and forward appropriately based on the DNS MX lookup.

If that doesn't work - you'll have to search some of the past archives of this list. I remember that in the old days (BlueQuartz mostly), you had to manually go into the /etc/mail directory and remove any mention of that domain, then remake the db files, and restart sendmail. So I may be forgetting something, but I think that its all done in the GUI now.

Oh yea - make sure your BlueOnyx (on-server) DNS shows the correct MX record for that external server, or is not authoritative for that domain. A wrong entry in the DNS server pointing to itself will continue to screw you up.
Subject: [BlueOnyx:17193] PHPList / Email Issues

>
I will try to explain what is happening.
>
We have a sub domain like media.mydomain.com which uses phplist
>
the primary domain is at a different hosting group and the email
in
on Microsoft 365 cloud.
>
>
When trying to send the e-mailer their e-mail bounce as no
such
user.
>
Is there a way to fix or work around?
>
>
Hopefully this make sense
