Hi BX experts,

Michael mentioned the other day that a migration to a newer BX server (5209R) with RoundCube could result in one little boo-boo -- missing address books in the migration from OpenWebMail to RoundCube. Can anyone provide a hint on how an admin might export the address book under OpenWebMail and then import it under the new RoundCube?

I'd forgotten that little caution - and I've already started the migration (have the first site moved already). I'll finish the second site I'd started, but hold there. Unfortunately, that means I could have a number of unhappy customers in the morning when they find RoundCube instead of OpenWebMail - and their address books are missing. If we can at least tell them that I'm working on migrating their address books - it will keep the hordes from burning the village while I work.

Chuck

That's the beauty of it: Both OpenWebmail and RoundCube use the IMAP
>
folders for email storage. So when you switch over to RoundCube, you'll
>
see the same emails.
>
>
The only system that OpenWebmail is not available for is 5209R. So on
>
all others you can install both OpenWebmail and RoundCube. However:
>
OpenWebmail should be retired. It's way too old and RoundCube is a very
>
nice replacement for it.
>
>
The only thing you might loose during the transition: The address books,
>
as both keep that one separate.
