Sorry - both servers have BLUEONYX. Correct list wrong typing. Thanks for
spotting that.

Aventurin I will look at many thanks

Then the BlueQuartz list will probably be more appropriate for you...
this is the BlueOnyx list. Similar, but not quite the same...

But now, regarding your clustering...

Aventurin{e}. http://www.aventurin.net

You set up Aventurin{e} on both servers, which then runs your BlueOnyx
(or BlueQuartz, or...) as a VPS. Aventurin{e} then clusters the 2
servers and keeps one of them in hot-standby as you have described.

You cannot really set up 2 standard stand-alone BlueOnyx (or BlueQuartz)
servers and mirror them, since the CODB data will not sync up. They're
just not built to do that.

Aventurin{e} addresses that by essentially mirroring the same BlueOnyx
(or BlueQuartz) server across 2 different physical pieces of hardware.
If the "primary" falls down for whatever reason, the "secondary" will
take over.

It comes with a GUI and everything. The software isn't free, but
speaking as somebody who's seen it in action, it's well worth it.
