was thinking on those lines but host contains the correct data.  ip   to 
correct names server

this doesnt work though ---   ip will go to 1st site  -- not the names 
server site

name of 1st vsite is not in there as it shouldn't be.

I was able to put the 1st site to a different ip address to see what 
happened.  Vsite 2  became the default. so that was no use.
