The onboard PHP 5.1.6 is pimped with the IonCube loader through this config 
file: /etc/php.d/ioncube.ini

So you may want to remove or change that if you install a different version. 

But this is a good reminder that it's time to release an updated IonCube 
loader. I'll see to it.
