I assume you tried deleting the alias, save, and then reenter the alias,
save?
And/or deleting the user, save, reenter the user, save?

Also, is this a new site/user?
as I assume maybe aliases were working, but recently stopped.

I assume not, but are the aliases in the /etc/mail/virtusertable file?
