Jeffrey,
You're not the first person to encounter this issue.  It's usually 
related to something flaky in recreating the .db files.  But in your 
case, this doesn't appear to be.

We've also seen this occur with the user DB lockfile not being removed:

That's not the case for you either.

I'm not sure what *is* the case, but it does seem to be a bug that has 
been repeated from time to time.  I'll give it a little diagnostic for 
you and see what we can turn up.
