Is there a way for me to get the updates faster ?

Hi all,

Ok, the hopefully final round of hotfixes is out:

yum clean all; yum update -y

That will address the Safe_Mode issue. No reboot or restart of anything 
required.

Again, apologies for this mess. Going to do a detailed write up now as of
what 
went wrong.
