[BlueOnyx:10952] TomCat Server

I am trying to publish a WAR file and I had some issues.

I corrected the code and it appears caching is turned on so I killed the process that I thought was TomCat and it killed my TomCat system. I am sure a restart will fix it but I figured I would ask a few questions while I'm thinking about it.

is each site configured with its own instance of tomcat?

if so or not, where are the configuration files kept for tomcat on blue onyx? like the conf/server.xml and conf/web.xml?

using Derby and Springs framework I am trying to create a database. if I don't use a absolute path where is the base path that the system will try to create the database or access other configuration files? (My specific issue is that the derby library cannot create the folder to create database with the JDBC driver)

any best practices with Blue Onyx TomCat server as far as user permissions?

Thanks,

Wayne
