Dan,

thank you for your suggestion. But this seems not to be enough :( I used the servername as mailservername in apple mail. But no success.

I am not able to send emails with apple mail and the activated SSL Checkbox. I always get the error messages

Aug 12 14:46:17 servername sendmail[20984]: r7CCkGRL020984: 12345.dip0.t-ipconnect.de [1.2.3.4] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MSA
Aug 12 14:46:17 servername sendmail[20987]: r7CCkHVI020987: rejecting commands from 12345.dip0.t-ipconnect.de [1.2.3.4] due to pre-greeting traffic

I have really no idea.
Any other suggestions?

With the old certificate this was not problem but web.de/gmx was not working. With the new certificate web/gmx is working. Butsending with apple mail clients and ssl is not possible any longer...

Regards,
Dirk

Apple products tend to be really strict with SSL certs. Make sure you are using the server name (or whatever FQDN you used in the cert) on the Apple product. Don't just use an alias (mail.example.com).
