I moved the Ethernet plug to the second socket on the server:
Now I get the same info as before, but now it's shown on both eth0 and eth1
ie: dhclient (3012) is already running - exiting.
etc..

Then I pinged: 192.168.0.1
but got the same failed result.

Well,

We must find out which port is which and to verify they are in working order.

What I would do, is connect another machine to the problematic one with a crossed network cable, give both machines an IP in the same subnet, then verify that ping works in both directions.

After that it should be simple to configure the router and the server properly.
