Got the server loaded (av-spam, roundcube), went back and turned off
(unchecked) DNS, went to the first screen and get the "this screen would
normally display". Went to Software Updates, and that screen now says,
"this screen would normally display"....

host www.blueonyx.it

www.blueonyx.it mail is handled by 30 www.blueonyx.it.
[root at ddf106 ~]# ping 38.114.102.4
PING 38.114.102.4 (38.114.102.4) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 38.114.102.4: icmp_seq=1 ttl=52 time=42.7 ms
64 bytes from 38.114.102.4: icmp_seq=2 ttl=52 time=42.6 ms
^C
--- 38.114.102.4 ping statistics ---
2 packets transmitted, 2 received, 0% packet loss, time 1778ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 42.634/42.705/42.777/0.218 ms

So the network is working, the box is up (I ssh into it from my desktop) but
the news and updates do not appear to work (in the GUI at least) when DNS
is not enabled...
