Okay.
Please check, if PHP module is embedded in config:
/etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/10-php.conf

<IfModule prefork.c>
  LoadModule php5_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/libphp5.so
</IfModule>

Have also a look, if your PHP executable exists within 
/usr/bin/
Or if you have non stock PHP
/home/solarspeed/..depends on version..

I've tried this to no avail. Ordinarily when PHP isn't running the source code displays in the browser window but in this instance it is being downloaded as an attachment.

I've tried suPHP which gives an Internal Server Error no matter who the ownership is set to. Removing and re-installing the MOD PHP package doesn't work either.

I've left fbid.co.uk/info.php up as a test. All it contains is phpinfo(); but it insists on downloading no matter what I do. 

I am currenty looking through /var/log/http/error_log. When I restart httpd the following is appended:

Those last three are presumably because I've suspended the websites.
