When that info is accessed first time around then that command has to
take a roundabout through CCE (client/server), CODB, CCEwrap,
Perl-Script system() call, shell-command, CODB and finally PHP gets the
results of the command that was executed on the shell.

First time around that's slow. Second time around much of it is cached
or pre-initialized and it goes considerably quicker.
