Let me explain some basics:

Say you have a Vsite called www.company.com. Unless you set the "Web
Server Alias" as "company.com", the Vsite is ONLY reachable at
www.company.com, provided you have the two required DNS A Records for this.

So "Web Server Aliases" define additional names that a Vsite is
reachable under apart from the full FQDN that is shown in the GUI.

Now on to Subdomains:

Subdomains do NOT have any "Email Server Aliases". If a Subdomain is
called "support".company.com", then THAT is the only name that this
Subdomain is reachable under. Therefore "www.subdomain.company.com" is
not answered or served.

BUT: If you do have a DNS A Record for "www.subdomain.company.com"
pointing to your server? In that case the request goes to the GUI, as no
Vsite or Subdomain of that *exact* name does exist on the server.

Bottom line: Subdomains do NOT have "Web Server Aliases". They only
answer to their given name and nothing else.
