Are you xml files in a tar file?  My BQ server creates 
servername.cmu-xml-files.tar.gz

Run tar -zxvf servername.cmu-xml-files.tar.gz,  then cd into the directory 
it created (probably called 'home')... keep digging until you find the .xml 
files and move the back to the original directory.
