OK, but a single webserver is a somewhat different than a VPS host.

I was pointing out that for the average BX system 16GB RAM is likely far 
more than necessary.  Although it is possible to have the 32-bit kernel 
address the RAM, some 32-bit modules (ie: Apache) may not make as 
efficient use (if they make any use at all) of the large RAM.

On a simple BX webserver (standalone, we were not talking virtualized), 
even one that does considerable traffic, my experience tells me that 4GB 
is usually plenty, and I wouldn't sink more than 8GB into it.  The 
performance won't be impacted.

Then again, I'd also never pick a power-hog dual quad-core as a simple 
web hosting system, either.  Hosting VPS's... that's another story 
altogether!
