[BlueOnyx:04654] Changing network configuration

Hi all,
I have a BO server, and was wondering if I can change the settings of the
network from shell, because I have no access from web to do the right
configuration.

If I change the settings with ifconfig and restart networking I get the old
settings.
Can I make this changes permanent in the file
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
