Had the same problem

Find the solution in google

Look for the file (i had several ) dbm.conf

Change

dbmopen_haslock no

to

dbmopen_haslock yes

worked for me

Onderwerp: [BlueOnyx:09755] openwebmail error

A client notified me this morning that he got an error message when logging
into openwebmail.

I have the SolarSpeed package installed on a 5106R.

His error was: Couldn't get read lock on db
/home/.sites/XX/siteYY/.users/ZZ/[loginname]/.openwebmail/db/[loginname]

This occurred after logging in with the correct credentials. I duplicated
his problem on my PC.

I tried openwebmail for my own account, and got a similar error:

Couldn't update index db db
/home/.sites/XX/siteYY/.users/ZZ/[loginname]/.openwebmail/db/[loginname]

I tried restarting sendmail, and then the whole server - problem remained.

Everything else is working great

I did notice there were a large number of yum updates this morning so
perhaps that's in the mix.

Openwebmail works fine on my other servers, and only this one had the large
number of yum updates.

Although RoundCube is more modern, many of my clients (and myself) like the
simplicity and (usual) reliability of openwebmail so I'd like to continue to
support it.

Advice from my fellow BX'ers would be greatly appreciated.
