That could already be the problem.

My /etc/sysconfig/i18n on 5108R has this in it when I switch the GUI to 
Japanese:

LANG=ja_JP.eucJP
LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8
LINGUAS="en_US da_DK de_DE ja"

Please change your /etc/sysconfig/i18n on 5108R or 5107R to contain the same 
information and it's likely that it will work.
