[BlueOnyx:11488] OpenWebmail gdbm fatal: read error

This is a BX 5108R box running Solarspeed's OpenWebmail.

Customer reported a problem this afternoon accessing OpenWebmail.   It's 
the old "Internal Server Error" business.

I've ensured that the user is not over quota.

Checking /var/log/httpd/error_log I see this from when I try and access 
the account:
[Thu Oct 04 15:54:08 2012] [error] [client 208.77.151.18] gdbm fatal: 
read error
[Thu Oct 04 15:54:08 2012] [error] [client 208.77.151.18] Premature end 
of script headers: openwebmail-main.pl


Both of my dbm.conf files show as follows:
dbm_ext                 .pag
dbmopen_ext             none
dbmopen_haslock         yes

I tried to run this:
# /home/solarspeed/openwebmail/cgi-bin/openwebmail/openwebmail-tool.pl 
--alluser --index

I get this output:
gdbm fatal: read error


So now I'm a bit stuck.  Suggestions are welcomed.
