Thanks for the suggestions, Michael and Gerald...

[Gerald] there is nothing in /etc/cron.d that references swatch...

[Michael] nothing to do with swatch got installed with yum...

the only files whose names match swatch* are
/var/cache/man/cat1/swatch.1.lzma
/etc/swatch.conf
/etc/ccewrap.d/base/am/swatch.xml
/etc/swatch.conf.rpmsave
/usr/bin/swatch
/usr/sausalito/swatch
/usr/share/man/man1/swatch.1.gz
/usr/share/doc/swatch-3.2.3
/usr/share/doc/swatch-3.2.3/tools/swatch_oldrc2newrc

/etc/swatch.conf is a copy of /etc/swatch.conf.rpmsave which was there -
presumably as a result of swatch updating....

It only contains:
enabled = true
lock_file = /var/lock/swatch.lock
email_list = admin

and swatch won't run with it as config file...

All the "blue" script files are in /usr/sausalito/swatch/bin :
am_admserv.exp  am_java.exp     am_sasl.exp         check-sasl.sh
am_apache.exp   am_mailman.exp  am_smtp.exp         dma_test.pl
am_cpu.sh       am_mem.pl       am_snmp.pl          raid_amdetails.pl
am_disk.pl      am_mysql.exp    am_telnet.exp       raidState.pl
am_dns.sh       am_network.sh   check-mailman.sh    smart-status.pl
am_ftp.exp      am_pb4s.exp     check-mysql.sh
am_imap.exp     am_pop.exp      check-popb4smtp.sh

so that bit, at least, looks good to go...

Any more thoughts?

TIA

Neil
