Hi Michael,

I’m agree that it is better to use UTF-8 instead of EUC-JP with other language.
But, as you know with original codes, Japanese use entered through GUI
stored into CODB using EUC-JP. So I changed to UTF-8 when I released
at major version up.

I didn’t look your fixed codes and checked with real environment.
So, this is just general story that handler and ui need to translate to UTF-8,
if Japanese data already stored using EUC-JP.

If you are OK, I’ll check it out and take care of this with you.
