[BlueOnyx:15825] KDE (GUI) with BlueOnyx

I am new to this list, so please forgive me if I am in the wrong arena. If
there is an alternative area I should be in please let me know.

Errata:

Scientific installed and running fine. Installed BlueOnyx and all is well.

Installed KDE (and tried Gnome) and my system hangs after displaying the
GUI interface. No mouse, keyboard - nada.

Plain Jane machine, standard USB keyboard and mouse, video, 4gb ram, quad
core Pentium x64. The system works fine without BO.

I would appreciate any ideas that may be out there.
