Usually you shouldn't have to do that. Was this an upgrade from
5107R/5108R or a fresh install?

You might want to run these two scripts from SSH as "root":

/usr/sausalito/sbin/php_settings_convert.pl
/usr/sausalito/sbin/suPHP_fixer.pl

That should push out the correct open_basedir settings.
