Does the sendmail server log show anything?   That should show ip of
origin.

If not, it's likely something's dropping the messages into our inbox
or into the spam filter input directly.

If there's a subject with [!!Spam], it seems like it also could be the
spam filters are going berzerk for some reason.

Try switching off spam filtering.
