It seems it worked. Now when rebooting the spamd error is gone, but newly we
are getting a clamd error:

Starting Clam AV daemon: ERROR: /var/log/clamav/clamd.log is locked by
another process

ERROR: Can't initialize the internal logger

[FAILED]

  service sendmail stop
check to see if there is a spamd process runing.
  ps aux | grep spamd
if so 
  kill `pidof spamd`
then
  service sendmail start

might  work
