You are unable to look at the VMware console? That is odd.
I will say this: we run a LOT of VMware. We previously ran BlueOnyx in
our VMware environment. We have since been moving to Aventurin{e} for
our BlueOnyx (and other linux-based) systems. We're able to squeeze
much better performance due to the decreased overhead. That, in turn,
has allowed us to get significantly more dense on the hosts.
I've got one customer box on VMware, in particular, that is doing the
same thing that you've described. I plan to move that to an
Aventurin{e} VPS in the near future, as anytime we have done that, we've
increased the stability of the virtual.
That's probably not the answer or input you're hoping for, but I thought
I would pass along some of my experience.
