Hi,

solved.
There is a package missing at the server:

cyrus-sasl-plain.x86_64

@Michael: Can you please add the package cyrus-sasl-plain.x86_64 to the 5209R install ISO?

And I do not know if it is necessary but I added a file smtpd.conf to the /etc/sasl2 directory with content

pwcheck_method: saslauthd
mech_list: plain login

I did find this in a 5108R configuration.

Hello,

I try to send email with smtpauth with a 5209R.
But I always get the message no authentication mechanism found.
In the /var/log/maillog I only see 

Feb 24 07:46:37 localhost sendmail[11389]: t1OCkbMf011389: [1.2.3.4] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

It makes no changes if I try PLAIN or TLS or SSL.
Do somebody have an idea what to change to get this running?
