Just an update for everyone who was kind enough to forward on their advice
regarding my virtual machine upgrades...

The box arrived a couple of days ago, and I was finally able to get it
plugged in for the first time today.

I have not settled on a platform as of yet, but installed my first trial
setup of Proxmox.  So far, so good - but I will tinker with a few others
before I settle.

And for anyone interested, the Thinkserver TS140 bundle I purchased is
CRAZY quiet.  Even under heavy load, the darn thing is whisper quiet..  If
you are in the market for a workstation for home/office, I would recommend
highly.
