Quick question: before we go messing with settings (I've never modified 
them on any BlueOnyx box, no matter how many domains) are your transfers 
not going through AT ALL?  Or are they simply deferred from time to time?

If the zone is NEVER transferring to your secondary, then that could be 
an issue.

If, however, it's just getting deferred periodically, I wouldn't worry 
about it.
