A general comment - With all of the leaked email / password lists in circulation, the use of a username instead of an email address has been a benefit, because the BX username is generally not part of data leaks. In a perfect world end users have different passwords on every device, but that is not reality.
Personally, I prefer a username instead of an email address to add that one extra layer of defence against end user stupidity…
