The most typical problem for being unable to login into phpMyAdmin is 
that the PHP version is to old or too new for the used RoundCube install.

But yeah: I had the exact same problem you describe recently as well. At 
one point or another in the life-cycle of RoundCube the DB schema has 
changed. The last time I had the issue it was just for two Vsites, so I 
checked the new DB schema and used phpMyAdmin to fix the schema in the 
two affected RoundCube databases.

Later on I found out that there was an easier way: The installed 
RoundCube wasn't the latest one anyway. And using the WebApp-Installer 
to perform an upgrade of the installed RoundCube would have solved the 
issue, too.
