As I am saying goodbye to my current hosted pbx provider I can't help but wonder.
Are there out-of-the-box packages to run pbx/sip(trunk) servers on BO or Almalinux?

As others have said, don’t try and run from BX but we have been running Asterisk and FreePBX servers on standard Linux VPS inside Aventurin{e} for years without issue.
