Chuck:
To answer the question re: CMU... I think you have an older CMU version 
on your BlueQuartz box.

On the PHP problem... I doubt you really have to move backwards.  What 
do your logs say?  It's most likely that either it's an Apache config 
issue, or maybe something moved from php4 to php5?
