Please don't apologise - I really appreciate your help.

I changed the site name that was the same as the server name and that fixes
everything. The only complication is that the site has a number of email
users and a web page, so I have had to temporarily re-instate it until I
can figure out a relatively painless way to deal with the collateral damage
caused by the change.

Once again, many thanks for your help. Your a star.
