Hi, do you get an error following:

su -
service httpd restart

I had a problem on the weekend where sshd was using port 443.  I solved it 
with:

service sshd stop
service httpd restart
service sshd start

It might not be related, but worth a try.  I cannot comment on general 
unstability though.
