Hi All

I got a problem with NFS Clients on Blue Onyx 5.5. The problem occurs on different BlueOnyx Servers (all 5.5). It occurs not on "normal" Cenots 5.5 Servers.

- I can mount manually NFS Mounts without problems (mount -t nfs ...)

- With the entry

192.168.1.11:/vol/volnfs/kundea/.sites /home/.sites nfs rw,bg,nfsvers=3,tcp,timeo=600,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,hard,intr,nolock,addr=192.168.1.11

in /etc/fstab i can make a "mount -a" (which makes all the mounts in /etc/fstab as far as i know) and the NFS mount is created.

But for some reasons during reboot the same nfs mounts (from the same /etc/fstab..) that works with "mount -a" is not created.

In /var/log/messages i find a notice from boot process:

Sep 8 17:04:59 myserver rpc.statd[3106]: statd running as root. chown /var/lib/nfs/statd/sm to choose different user

The directory rights are the following

[root at myserver ~]# ls -al /var/lib/nfs/statd/
insgesamt 20
drwx------ 4 rpcuser rpcuser 4096 7. Sep 12:24 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 7. Sep 11:29 ..
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 7. Sep 12:24 sm
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 7. Sep 12:24 sm.bak
-rw------- 1 root root 4 8. Sep 17:04 state
[root at myserver ~]# ls -al /var/lib/nfs/statd/sm
insgesamt 8
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 7. Sep 12:24 .
drwx------ 4 rpcuser rpcuser 4096 7. Sep 12:24 ..

rpc.statd is running as root
[root at clnetftp sm]# ps aux | grep statd
root 3105 0.0 0.0 1960 744 ? Ss 09:42 0:00 rpc.statd

I tought statd process is only for "NFS Server" Operations (these boxes are only NFS Clients)...so i'm not sure if this has something to do with the "mount at boot" problem...

Any ideas?

Thanks + greets
