Hmmmm.  I have seen the symptoms crop up on a variety of Aventurin{e} 
(OpenVZ) as well as stand-alone systems.   The symptoms seem to be 
non-discriminatory (although all of the individual error messages may 
not be reproduced on the stand-alones).
