Editing the merlot template is not the best way to customise the gui. 
Each time there is an update to the template RPM's, your changes will be 
over-written. It would be smarter to make a copy of that template, and 
add it as a new one.

The new theme was the main thing added in this update.

This is not related to the theme/template yum update. Its a problem 
that's been around for a while. Temporary solution: Untuck and re-tick 
PHP in the gui when you create a new site, and it will work.
