Yeah, there are quite a few web applications available now.

Yes, I can relate to that. Also see it the other way around: Getting the
stuff installed once is one thing. Keeping multiple installs of the
updated is another matter. The WebApp installer takes care of that. If
you have deployed Gallery3 or Prestashop to a vsite with the WebApp
installer and install a newer PKG for that app, then you can update all
previously installed instances easily with just a few mouseclicks in the
GUI. It also adds more wheat to the GUI, as clients can easily deploy
such webapps themselves if they want to.
