[BlueOnyx:12341] PHP and OpenSSH versions

I'm running a couple 5106R servers. Is it accurate that BlueOnyx needs to
run PHP 5.1.6 and openSSH 4.3? I know it's possible to run a separate
versions of PHP (I'm not sure about OpenSSH, but doesn't keeping those older
versions open security vulnerabilities? 

 

So, my question is. Can I run PHP 5.2.17 or newer and OpenSSH 5.8 or newer
on a 5106 without the older version(s) also running or does blueonyn need
the older versions to run properly?
