Yes, everything on the box is healthy. I also rebooted the system but the
problem persisted. 

Here some of the statistics that might give you a clue:

The CPU is being lightly used.
1 Minute Load Average: 0.21
15 Minute Load Average: 0.26

Total Physical Memory: 3'923'928 KB
Free Physical Memory: 262'300 KB
Memory Usage: 3'661'628 KB (93 % of total)
Total Swap Space: 4'194'300 KB
Free Swap Space: 4'103'660 KB
Pages Per Second: 697 pages per second
Swaps Per Second: 2 swaps per second
Swap Usage: 90'640 KB (2 % of total)

What else could paralyze MC?

Is the box otherwise healthy?   Load average is OK?   Hard drives are 
healthy?  Memory is not overloaded and eating into swap?   That's what I 
would be investigating first.
