Darryl,

I know this from vmware. Removing the /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules was helpful in CentOS5 and CentOS6 but for CentOS7 it is not enough.
What fits for me is the following:

1.)
removing /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

2.)
Add two options in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
HWADDR=<mac address of your network device>
MACADDR=<mac address of your network device>

3.)
Reboot

After the reboot the network card is present for the OS again.

I've moved the drives of a 5209R server to a new server and can't get it 
to see the new NIC. I've cleared the 
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules file and it won't repopulate 
with the new NIC info. Any ideas?
