Yeah, the VNC access is somewhat dicey at times. I also have troubles
accessing VNC on some of my VPS's with an external VNC client. But the
one integrated into the GUI usually works. If it doesn't, then try to
restart the service "webvnc.service" on the 6109R node:

systemct restart webvnc.service

That should fix it. And no, you can have a firewall in the VPS and VNC
will work anyway. In fact you can even use VNC when the VPS doesn't have
network configured yet.

The backup mechanism that's built into the GUI lets you create tarballs
of entire VPS's, which can then either be stored locally, on an USB- or
network connected drive or on another server that's reachable via SSH.

The restores of these tarballs can be done from the GUI as well.

And yes: This only allows to restore the whole VPS, not bits and pieces
of it.

Beyond what's built into the 6109R GUI you can of course use other means
to perform backups. RaQbackup.sh or the "Automated Backup" will do.

Or you can use "prlctl clone <UUID>" to make copy the whole VPS. You can
even use that to copy a running VPS over to another 6109R node for
safekeeping.

If you do that, you can use "prlctl mount <UUID>" on the stopped clone
and can then access individual files and folders by going to
/vz/root/<UUID> on the node.
