Hi Taco,

That is my point – VNC doesn’t open to complete the setup.
Also I cannot ping it. :-/

No, not using DHCP.

Regards

Colin

Hi Colin,

Did you go into VNC and ran the text-based setup before accessing the Server Desktop (the BlueOnyx) UI?

You should be able to setup the hostname, IP & DNS during this setup process.

Are you possibly using DHCP?

I have had mixed results with BlueOnyx in general when a DHCP address is offered.

Best regards,

Taco

Still a fail. :-/

Downloaded the latest ISO (Sept) and set up as per Michael’s instruction.
Initially it said it was running but no host name.
Went to basic settings and put host name in again and rebooted.
Once running I tried to access using VNC … said server had closed the connection.
Restarted webvnc.service and same.
Tried to ping new VM … unavailable.

Anybody any ideas where I am going wrong?

Thanks

Colin

Hi Michael,

Hope all well with you. Colombian politics doesn’t make for good reading in the media and
what a mess in Ukraine and Gaza!

Top posting for clarity. 😊

I have been trying for ages to spin up a 5211R on atlas1.mainline.co.uk (6109R) and have not yet been able to get a working VM. All says it is okay but cannot access using VNC.

I am going to have another go this weekend – please revue your instructions below to ensure I do it right, unless you have published an FAQ somewhere on this? I looked on blueonyx.it and aventurine.net first.

Many thanks

Colin
