The GUI has CSRF protection enabled by default. So if you have a login 
page from yesterday, the CSRF cookies have expired since long and when 
you try to login with that anyway? Then you should see an error message.

But not a "too many HTTP redirects".

Let's go back one step: Go to https://<server-name>:81/ to get a fresh 
login form and try to login. See if that works.

If *that* results in a "too many HTTP redirects" then there is indeed 
something wrong. In that case check /var/log/messages and also 
/var/log/gui-debug.log to see what those report.
