I appreciate your prompt assistance.

The VPS had indeed lost a previously working IP address.  Removing the IP
address from Aventurine{e}, re-inputting it, and rebooting the VPS fixed the
problem.

Ken, I never thought of your OBVIOUS suggestion of reinstalling a working
VPS backup - how simple would that be!!!  Unfortunately, the backup was
overwritten at midnight. I noticed the VPS wasn't working shortly before
that time.  This is a good example of the huge benefits that will be derived
for Aventurine{e} users when the backup GUI allows more options.
