Actually in my AWStats you can configure where it stores the statistics and 
how it views them:

Through the GUI only (stored in /home/sites/www.site.com/awstats)
Public and unprotected (stored in /home/sites/www.site.com/web/awstats)
Public and protected (stored in /home/sites/www.site.com/web/awstats)

If you choose one of the public storage methods, then yes: CMU will migrate 
the statistics as well.
